friendly, family run Hotel on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, UK - under the
same family management for more than 35 years. We are open all day every day
of the year.
The Fox and Hounds Hotel is situated within Dartmoor National Park and is a
very popular destination for walkers and day-trippers to the moor.
The moor is accesed directly via a trackway behind the Hotel.
We have modern
camping and caravanning facilities in addition to bunk bed accommodation. Our location, set on the edge
of Dartmoor looking west, allows some spectacular evenings watching the sun set
towards Bodmin moor and Cornwall from the cosy comfort of the bars.

The hotel has a restaurant
and bar menu, food is served all day every day. Our restaurant is very popular
locally. Good food all freshly prepared by our chefs using the very best of
local produce, many our own recipes. We are rightly very proud of the hospitality
and cuisine and extend a warm invitation to you to come and visit us. Our
Sunday roast is renowned, served at 1pm every Sunday. Booking is advisable.
Our menu changes regularly, we source the finest
local ingredients and our menu reflects the seasonality of the local market, please see our menu examples, .

Our Edwardian era hotel has six en-suite bedrooms; other rooms are available in the
adjacent cottage in addition to the bunk beds in a separate building.
There are two bars, a restaurant, games room with pool and darts, beer garden
and children’s play area outside. Notably we have a skittle alley which doubles
as a function room. It has its own bar and is available for booking for
parties.
We are situated about a half hour dive from either coast and there are many
attractions and places of interest close by.
The Devon cycle way passes right beside us.
